The Legal Aspects of Dying

978-0-620-48447-3
Price per Unit (book): R103.00

Author:  Vicky Ireland

This book was researched and written as a result of the death of the author's father in 1982. It was no more than an idea for more than 20 years until friends and family encouraged the author to write it.

It is a step-by-step handbook on what must be done when one is confronted with the death of a family member, friend or aquaintance.  It is mainly for the South African market but, although the actual laws are different, about 50 - 60% of the book would be of interest to non-South Africans.

There are 5 sections dealing with respectively; Legislation, the causes of death (natural and unnatural), Burial or cremation, Winding up an estate and making preparation for your own death. There are also Q + A sections on why and how an autopsy is done as well as the duties of the undertaker.  The duties of the executor are also discussed as well as information on all the documents that are required.
